Where do I begin?

Hello! My name is Nessa, and I decided to start a blog! I wanted to create a space where I am able to share my perspective on things and topics in the world that portray as being straight forward (black & white) when that is truly not the case. I have been placed in several situations where society and the social stigmas of the world TELL YOU how you should react or what you should do. This is NOT THE CASE. Each person goes through different experiences and should be able to share their perspectives in order to create the bigger picture that everyone seems to be avoiding. I’m here to be MY VOICE.

Just a little bit about myself, I am a mother of three beautiful children who have their own unique personalities and differences. I am a mother of a child who has been diagnosis with Autism and my youngest child has been diagnosis with ADHD. I have learned a lot about the health care system, the dos and DONTS can really be draining… emotionally and physically!

There isn’t a manual you can pull out from your magic pocket and be like OHH that’s what I am supposed to do! Every day is a challenge and a never-ending battle that the physician’s kind of just say Hey mom you got it! Despite the challenges that I have faced being a mother, I have faced personally challenges that has shaped me into the parent that I am today. I am here to share my perspectives, the good, the bad and the raw.

Despite the challenges I face as an individual and as a mother, I am still me at the end of the day.

I am a clinician who currently works at a Partial Care program. I have been working as a therapist for several years now and I work on a consultation basis with children from inner cities who have trouble regulating their emotions. I do enjoy writing, hence the blog! I spend most of my nights spending time with my children and the hubby doing activities such as walking, biking and swimming. The FEW hours that I do get to myself, I enjoy playing desktop games or looking at ways to improve myself. I do hope you enjoy your time with me and share some of your perspectives while we navigate this thing called life!
